The world’s most famous rock’n'roll musical, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show is about to get South Africa doing the ‘Time Warp’. The sexplosive story follows the misadventures of two small town ingenues, Brad and Janet who lose their way on a dark and stormy night. The hapless pair fall under the spell of Transylvanian transvestite Dr Frank N Furter who takes them on a journey of debauchery and sin, leading inexorably to their loss of innocence. With its top notch cast, rip-roaring music and outrageous costumes, this production promises to be a spectacularly hot patootie.

Jonathan Burrows Group
The man recently described by ‘The Financial Times’ as ‘Britain’s Columbus’ for his determination to explore new territory in dance – he’s even done a show involving only his hands – comes to Lisbon for two shows at the CCB. Most of the group’s pieces are small-scale affairs with just one or two performers and are definitely not aimed at a mass audience. The smaller of the CCB’s two auditoria provides a suitably intimate setting.

Euforica
The third birthday party for the Czech dance music collective Sunshine People shows off everything that’s made them a major force in Prague. DJs Rob and Steve, Smokescreen Sound System, James, Funky Skunky and Braun take over the main stage. The upstairs decks go to DJs Kovak, OJ and Petr, while MC performances by Felix of Amsterdam’s Pardiso Club round out the show. Add juggling, go-go dancers, kinetic lighting effects, a fruit bar and vinyl for sale from Ariba Record Shop and you’ve got what could be the best birthday blow-out in town this month.
